DRAKKAR is a multiscale ocean modeling project with partners in France, Germany, Great Britain and Russia. The core scientific topic is the study of the ocean circulation in the North Atlantic and Nordic Seas, its variability, processes and interactions with the global ocean. Another main goal is the development of a unified model environment on the basis of the NEMO model for the description of the ocean on medium to eddy-resolving space scales.
