IRFAM-ClimS-E5: EMAC simulations of project IRFAM-ClimS with ECHAM5 radiation scheme and interactive chemistry

Stecher, Laura et al.

Dataset
Summary
This dataset contains the data of the simulations performed with the chemistry-climate model EMAC for the project IRFAM-ClimS with the ECHAM5 radiation scheme and interactive chemistry.

The simulation results are published in the following preprint, which is under discussion for publication in ACP:

Stecher, L., Winterstein, F., Jöckel, P., Ponater, M., Mertens, M., and Dameris, M.: Chemistry-climate feedback of atmospheric methane in a methane emission flux driven chemistry-climate model, EGUsphere [preprint], https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-2024-2938, 2024

Simulations:

RfSSTc-E5-10s (REF-SSTfix in preprint):
Reference simulation (year 2010 conditions) with prescribed sea surface temperatures.

RMLOc-E5-01 (REF-SSTvar in preprint):
Reference simulation (year 2010 conditions) using mixed layer ocean model.

ERFCO2c-E5-01 (ERFCO2 in preprint):
Perturbation simulation with increased CO2 mixing ratio with prescribed sea surface temperatures.

ERFCH4c-E5-01 (ERFCH4 in preprint):
Perturbation simulation with increased CH4 surface emission fluxes with prescribed sea surface temperatures.

ECCCO2c-E5-01r (ECCCO2 in preprint):
Perturbation simulation with increased CO2 mixing ratio using mixed layer ocean model.

ECCCH4c-E5-01 (ECCCH4 in preprint):
Perturbation simulation with increased CH4 surface emission fluxes using mixed layer ocean model.

In addition to the listed simulations, the dataset contains data of simulations to quantify individual radiative effects of composition changes (see directory radiative_effects).
